Welcome to My Blog
One of my favorite parts of the 21st century is that for the first time in more than 2,000 years, since Julius Caesar addressed the citizens of Rome (sans women and slaves, of course) there is a two-way conversation between government and its citizens, corporations and their customers, and people around the globe, all talking to each other in real time. Thank G-d Al Gore invented the Internet.
I run several businesses, and it is through this kind of direct conversation that I can “hear” what my consumers have to say about my goods and services. It is a way that I can answer their concerns and give them more information about my brands
But blogging is actually more than that to me; it is a way to instantly get my thoughts out into cyberspace about any subject that I want to weigh in on – and there is certainly a lot to say. Look at our ever-changing world. It is incredible the upheaval we are going through as a country, a society, and a planet.
My blog will focus on what’s most important to me, whether it’s a lifelong goal or my current brainstorm. Business know-how, opinions both prominent and unpopular, my Big Idea du Jour – here’s where you’ll find them all. I welcome you – in fact, I encourage you – to respond. My blog is a forum for all, and I hope to stir up conversation – and, occasionally, controversy – among my readers.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing tidbits about my upcoming book, Rubies in the Orchard, which reveals my secrets on how to market just about anything. From my initial breakthrough of Teleflora to the more recent turnaround of FIJI Water and how I grew a tiny orchard in the San Joaquin Valley into the super success of
Wonderful, I’ll reveal all the ways I found success and give you ideas on new ways to make your business grow, no matter what size and no matter what industry. The basic tenets are the same.
So, come on in and look around. Stay awhile. Ask me questions. Question answers. This blog is as much yours as it is mine.

Great to see a successful entrepreneur sharing some pearls of wisdom and wit – just what we need as we weather this recession.

You sent me an early galley proof of your book that I thought was absolutely fantastic. Thank you! Since I was lucky enough to be mentored by you for years, I loved to see so many memories in print. Plus I needed a “refresher course” of some of your latest wisdom. So I read it twice and ordered three for other friends who were lucky enough to work for you. Anyway, am working for a very bright woman at a major LA beauty company. She never went to college either but has helped build this successful company after 28 years handling Marketing and everything else. Despite all the men that surround her, the owner has made her the #2 person yet she struggles with Sales to put Marketing first. So I gave her your book. She says she never reads books, but she read yours. She soaked it up like a sponge because I hear her spouting your “talk” all the time. She LOVED it. It just makes me laugh so hard, as she is charging forward with some plans for the company that will take them to a new level. It’s like watching you all over so many years ago. And by the way, she now has a massive bottle of Fiji water on her desk every day and plans to order several of your new books. Just thought you’d want to hear how everyone is enjoying your wisdom and always, your fabulous sense of humor. Lucky me to have you in my life. Thanks to your great new book, now everyone can.
Accolades to you and your latest achievement…

I just ordered “Rubies in the Orchard” from Amazon.com (really good price on Amazon) and I am looking forward to a great read. Your optimism makes my day.

I just loved Rubies in the Orchard. (Ilene lent me her copy) It was like taking a master class with a marketing genius with the added entertainment that the genius is Lynda. Great Work! Congratulations,
All the best,

I am so excited to read my copy – I’ve always said if I could sit down to coffee with any marketing mentor in the world, it would be you – so, I’m thrilled that you’re sharing your insights with us.
